My Exam Result Hasn't Arrived! What Should I Do?

4 min read • Troubleshooting

You took the exam, weeks have passed, but your mailbox is still empty? Don't worry, you are not alone.

What is the Normal Waiting Time?

Exams evaluated by the BAMF (Federal Office for Migration and Refugees) currently take on average between 6 and 12 weeks to process. In some busy periods, this can go up to 4 months.

Why is it Delayed?

When Should You Act?

If more than 3 months have passed since your exam date:

  1. First, call the course center (VHS) where you took the exam.
  2. If you get no result, contact the BAMF (though they usually do not give information directly to individuals).
Important: Your result document (Certificate) is a single copy. When it arrives, make sure to photocopy it and keep the original safe. It is difficult to reissue if lost.
